Project Salvation

Reflection

To conclude my project, I would say that my partner and I did a successful job. Our goal was to volunteer for the Salvation Army to prepare and serve food for the people that seek help from that program. I believe this project was a success because we were able to make time in order to help this program. We took advantage of holidays as well as weekends to prepare, package, and serve meals. Every weekend, over 200 meals were served from the Salvation Army facility and from their mobile food truck. I feel that with all the hard work my partner and I have put into this project, we were able to make a difference in the lives of our fellow islanders. If I were to do this again, I would do it over the summer. This would give me more time to participate with the Salvation Army workers and make more of an impact on the lives of my intended audience. To continue to make a difference in the lives of my intended audience, I could continue to give in what ever time I have to volunteer.

Project Help

What have you accomplished?
- We have already spoke with the person in charge of Salvation Army, Pastor Wayne, to schedule a time to interview him, people that receive help from Salvation Army, and do volunteer work.
What has gone wrong?
- Meeting the person in charge of Salvation Army.

What have you learned through the process?
- I've learned that time management is critical. I have also learned that giving back to the community, especially to the people that seek help, is harmless and makes the helper and the person seeking help feel good.
How have your skills improved over the past week?
- I learned to free up some of my time in order to be able to visit the Salvation Army. My time management skills are improving.
Are you on track for an on-time delivery?
- I have fallen a bit behind, but am currently working on catching up.
What adjustments need to be made on the timeline?
-I need to adjust the scheduled dates.
My next action is….
- My next action will be to do an empathy interview on one of people seeking help.
